1 AN ACT relating to civil procedure; providing a process for
2 a change of venue in district court; and providing for an
3 effective date.

7. W.S. 1-7-103 is created to read:

11 (a) For any civil action brought in an incorrect
12 venue, the district court may, on its own or upon motion of
13 the parties, order the action to be transferred to a court
14 that would be a proper venue.

2SF00791 (b) For purposes of this section, an action timely
2 filed in an incorrect venue and transferred to a proper
3 venue under this section shall be deemed to be timely filed
4 in the proper venue.

6 (c) The supreme court may adopt rules governing
7 proceedings under this section.

9. This act is effective July 1, 2025.
