Description of appropriation:
This appropriation will be expended on grants to Wyoming school districts for school
years 2025-26, 2026-27, and 2027-28, for state assistance, training and education
for volunteers and faculty, wages for faculty, and equipment for a crossing guard
program at schools within the school district.
A school district may apply to the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) for a
grant, not to exceed $10,000 per school and the total awards shall not exceed
$1,650,000 per school year. The WDE indicates the final $1,650,000 will be expended
in FY 2028.
The WDE also indicates that on its own, this bill will not require additional
personnel or funding. However, passage of multiple bills of this type may result
in a cumulative administrative impact to the WDE.
