FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
"An Act relating to proposals for borough incorporation submitted to the legislature by 1
the Local Boundary Commission." 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 3
* Section 1. AS 29.05.115(a) is amended to read: 4
(a) If the Local Boundary Commission submits a proposal for borough 5
incorporation to the legislature under art. X, sec. 12, Constitution of the State of 6
Alaska, AS 29.05.060 - 29.05.110 do not apply. However, a [BEFORE THE] proposal

may be [IS] submitted to the legislature only after [,] the Local Boundary 8
Commission holds [SHALL HOLD] at least two public hearings in the area proposed 9
for incorporation and determines that a majority of residents of voting age within 10
that area support the proposal. 11
