27	27	"An Act relating to municipal and state procurement preferences for agricultural 1
28	28	products harvested in the state and fisheries products harvested or processed in the 2
29	29	state; and providing for an effective date." 3
30	30	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 4
31	31	* Section 1. AS 29.71.040(a) is amended to read: 5
32	32	(a) If a municipality that receives state money seeks to purchase an 6
33	33	agricultural product and an agricultural product harvested in the state is available that 7
34	34	is of like quality compared with a similar agricultural product harvested outside the 8
35	35	state, the municipality 9
36	36	(1) shall purchase the product harvested in the state if the product is 10
37	37	priced not more than 10 [SEVEN] percent above the similar product harvested outside

40	40	(2) may purchase the product harvested in the state only if the product 13

49	49	state is available that is of like quality compared with a similar fisheries product 5
50	50	harvested or processed outside the jurisdiction of the state, the municipality 6
51	51	(1) shall purchase the product harvested or processed within the 7
52	52	jurisdiction of the state if the product is priced not more than 10 [SEVEN] percent 8
53	53	above the similar product harvested or processed outside the jurisdiction of the state; 9
54	54	(2) may purchase the product harvested or processed in the jurisdiction 10
55	55	of the state only if the product is priced not more than 25 [15] percent above the 11
56	56	product harvested or processed outside the jurisdiction of the state. 12
57	57	* Sec. 3. AS 36.15.050(a) is amended to read: 13
58	58	(a) When agricultural products are purchased by the state or by a school 14
59	59	district that receives state money, a preference not less than 10 [SEVEN] percent nor 15
60	60	more than 25 [15] percent shall be applied to the price of products harvested in the 16
