27 | 27 | | 21 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |

28 | 28 | | 22 Section 1. Section 17-9-50, Code of Alabama 1975, is |

29 | 29 | | 23 amended to read as follows: |

30 | 30 | | 24 "ยง17-9-50. |

31 | 31 | | 25 "Except as electors and individuals to assist them |

32 | 32 | | 26 are admitted to vote and persons to assist them as herein |

33 | 33 | | 27 provided, and except for the judge of probate, the sheriff, or |

34 | 34 | | Page 1 1 his or her deputy, the precinct election officials, and |

35 | 35 | | 2 watchers, no person individual shall be permitted within 30 |

36 | 36 | | 3 feet of the door of the building of the polling place. For |

37 | 37 | | 4 purposes of this section, 30 feet shall be measured from the |

38 | 38 | | 5 exterior door or doors of the building in which voting |
---|
39 | 39 | | 6 machines are located and which voters are allowed to use as |

40 | 40 | | 7 the ingress and egress to the voting area." |

41 | 41 | | 8 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the |
---|
42 | 42 | | 9 first day of the third month following its passage and |
---|
43 | 43 | | 10 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law. |
