9-2 ENROLLED, An Act,
10-3 Relating to Marshall County; to provide for the
11-4 Sheriff of Marshall County to receive the same uniform
12-5 increases in compensation granted to other elected county
13-6 officers.
14-7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
15-8 Section 1. (a) After the effective date of this act,
16-9 the Sheriff of Marshall County shall be entitled to receive
17-10 the same uniform increases in compensation, such as
18-11 cost-of-living increases, granted to other elected county
19-12 officers in Marshall County.
20-13 (b) During the current term of any sheriff serving
21-14 on the effective date of this act, the uniform increases shall
22-15 be paid to the sheriff as expense allowances. Effective
23-16 beginning the next term of office of any sheriff elected or
24-17 appointed after the effective date of this act, any uniform
25-18 increases paid to the sheriff as an expense allowance shall be
26-19 converted to salary and added to the annual salary of the
27-20 sheriff rounded to the nearest dollar.
28-21 (c) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section
29-22 11-2A-4 of the Code of Alabama 1975, any uniform increases
30-23 granted to any sheriff pursuant to this section shall be added
31-24 to the permanent salary of the Sheriff of Marshall County
32-25 elected or appointed after the effective date of this act.

34-1 (d) Any uniform increases in compensation granted to
35-2 the Sheriff of Marshall County shall be in addition to any
36-3 other compensation granted to the sheriff.
37-4 Section 2. All laws or parts of laws which conflict
38-5 with this act are repealed.
39-6 Section 3. This act shall become effective
40-7 immediately following its passage and approval by the
41-8 Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
