JORDAN SINGLETARY FOR BEING NAMED 9 2021-2022 VESTAVIA HILLS HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMAN CAMPUS TEACHER 10 OF THE YEAR. 11 12 WHEREAS, highest congratulations are herein proudly 13 conveyed to Ms. Jordan Singletary for being named 2021-2022 14 Vestavia Hills High School Freshman Campus Teacher of the 15 Year; and 16 WHEREAS, at Vestavia Hills High School Freshman 17 Campus, Ms. Singletary teaches ninth grade Honors World 18 History and is the sponsor of the Girls' Fellowship of 19 Christian Athletes; previously, she taught at the main campus 20 for six years; she cares about her students immensely, 21 stating, "In the teaching profession, we always joke about all 22 the different hats we wear. Counselor, educator, friend, 23 parent, coach, party planner, etc. My goal every day is to be 24 what my students need me to be and to meet them where they 25 are. All of that starts with having to really get to know 26 them, their likes and dislikes, their study habits, their home 27 life. Establishing that relationship and rapport with them is Page 1 1 very important to me, and I believe in their success in 2 school. Some students need a safe place to hang out, while 3 others need me to make it mandatory that they come to my study 4 sessions"; and 5 WHEREAS, a woman of steadfast selflessness and 6 commitment, Ms. Singletary is an incredible inspiration and 7 leader who is very deserving of special recognition; now 8 therefore, 9 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH 10 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That Ms. Jordan Singletary is 11 highly congratulated for being named 2021-2022 Vestavia Hills 12 High School Freshman Campus Teacher of the Year, and we hereby 13 dedicate this resolution to her with heartiest appreciation 14 and admiration, along with sincere best wishes for continued 15 happiness and success in all future endeavors.
