8 CONGRATULATING THE GLENWOOD SCHOOL LADY GATORS
9 VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2022 ALABAMA
10 INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS 3A GIRLS VARSITY
11 BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

13 WHEREAS, it is with pride and pleasure that
14 commendations and congratulations are extended to the Glenwood
15 School Lady Gators Varsity Basketball Team for winning the
16 2022 Alabama Independent School Association Class 3A Girls
17 Varsity Basketball State Championship; and
18 WHEREAS, through teamwork, diligence, and a
19 commitment to excellence, the Glenwood School Lady Gators have
20 achieved victory by claiming the 2022 Alabama Independent
21 School Association Class 3A Girls Varsity Basketball State
22 Championship Title, beating Tuscaloosa Academy, 58-56; in the
23 Championship game, despite Tuscaloosa Academy scoring 30
24 points in 3-point shots and its players being bigger and
25 taller than Glenwood School's players, the Lady Gators still
26 played a tough and clean game in the paint and emerged
27 victorious; and
Page 1 1 WHEREAS, during the 2021-2022 post season, the Lady
2 Gators also beat Monroe in Elite Eight, 52-30, and beat Ft.
3 Dale in Final Four, 46-42; and
4 WHEREAS, inspirational leadership and expert
5 training were provided by Head Coach Dusty Perdue and
6 Assistant Coach Matt Garner; the talented roster included Emma
7 Head, Anna Grace Griggs, Jasmyn Burts, Olivia Slocumb, Tk
8 Davis, Clara Crisco, Katelyn Blackshear, Addison Corbett, Lily
9 Weirich, Bobbi Taylor Breazeale, and Claire Graham; and
10 WHEREAS, the success of this team is due to its
11 mastery of the fundamentals, excellent teamwork, and a strong
12 competitive spirit, as well as the enthusiastic support of the
13 players' parents and the school's administrators, faculty, and
14 students, along with the many loyal fans in the community; now
15 therefore,
16 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
17 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Glenwood School Lady
18 Gators Varsity Basketball Team is honored and commended for
19 the outstanding achievement of winning the 2022 Alabama
20 Independent School Association Class 3A Girls Varsity
21 Basketball State Championship, and we hereby dedicate this
22 resolution to the team members and the coaches in heartiest
23 admiration, along with best wishes for continued success in
24 all future endeavors.
