15-8 WHEREAS, it is with pride and pleasure that
16-9 commendations and congratulations are extended to the Glenwood
17-10 School Lady Gators Varsity Basketball Team for winning the
18-11 2022 Alabama Independent School Association Class 3A Girls
19-12 Varsity Basketball State Championship; and
20-13 WHEREAS, through teamwork, diligence, and a
21-14 commitment to excellence, the Glenwood School Lady Gators have
22-15 achieved victory by claiming the 2022 Alabama Independent
23-16 School Association Class 3A Girls Varsity Basketball State
24-17 Championship Title, beating Tuscaloosa Academy, 58-56; in the
25-18 Championship game, despite Tuscaloosa Academy scoring 30
26-19 points in 3-point shots and its players being bigger and
27-20 taller than Glenwood School's players, the Lady Gators still
28-21 played a tough and clean game in the paint and emerged
29-22 victorious; and
30-23 WHEREAS, during the 2021-2022 post season, the Lady
31-24 Gators also beat Monroe in Elite Eight, 52-30, and beat Ft.
32-25 Dale in Final Four, 46-42; and

34-1 WHEREAS, inspirational leadership and expert
35-2 training were provided by Head Coach Dusty Perdue and
36-3 Assistant Coach Matt Garner; the talented roster included Emma
37-4 Head, Anna Grace Griggs, Jasmyn Burts, Olivia Slocumb, Tk
38-5 Davis, Clara Crisco, Katelyn Blackshear, Addison Corbett, Lily
39-6 Weirich, Bobbi Taylor Breazeale, and Claire Graham; and
40-7 WHEREAS, the success of this team is due to its
41-8 mastery of the fundamentals, excellent teamwork, and a strong
42-9 competitive spirit, as well as the enthusiastic support of the
43-10 players' parents and the school's administrators, faculty, and
44-11 students, along with the many loyal fans in the community; now
45-12 therefore,
46-13 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
47-14 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Glenwood School Lady
48-15 Gators Varsity Basketball Team is honored and commended for
49-16 the outstanding achievement of winning the 2022 Alabama
50-17 Independent School Association Class 3A Girls Varsity
51-18 Basketball State Championship, and we hereby dedicate this
52-19 resolution to the team members and the coaches in heartiest
53-20 admiration, along with best wishes for continued success in
