1919 13 Relating to Tuscaloosa County; to further provide
2020 14 for the compensation of the Judge of Probate of Tuscaloosa
2121 15 County; and to ratify and confirm any prior compensation paid
2222 16 to the judge of probate prior to the effective date of this
2323 17 act.
2424 18 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2525 19 Section 1. (a) The Judge of Probate of Tuscaloosa
2626 20 County shall receive an annual salary of one hundred
2727 21 fifty-seven thousand five hundred dollars ($157,500) per year
2828 22 payable in the manner that other county employees are paid
2929 23 from the general fund of the county. Except for the increases
3030 24 in compensation provided for in subsection (b), the salary
3131 25 provided in this subsection shall be the total salary, expense
3232 26 allowance, or other compensation of the judge of probate and
3333 27 shall be in lieu of any prior salary, expense allowance, or
3434 Page 1 1 other compensation provided or paid to the judge of probate
3535 2 pursuant to any other prior law or otherwise.
3636 3 (b) In addition and supplemental to the salary
3737 4 provided in subsection (a), the judge of probate shall be
3838 5 entitled to any and all uniform increases in compensation,
3939 6 such as cost-of-living increases, and all other employee
4040 7 benefits granted to all county employees by the county.
4141 8 Section 2. Any salary or other compensation paid to
4242 9 the Judge of Probate of Tuscaloosa County prior to the
4343 10 effective date of this act is ratified and confirmed.
4444 11 Section 3. All laws or parts of laws which conflict
4545 12 with this act are repealed. Any part of Act 85-106 of the 1985
4646 13 Regular Session (Acts 1985, p. 135) in conflict with this act
4747 14 is expressly superseded.
4848 15 Section 4. This act shall become effective
4949 16 immediately following its passage and approval by the
5050 17 Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
