6 SERVICE OF SENATOR JIM MCCLENDON BY DESIGNATING A PORTION OF
7 U.S. HIGHWAY 411 THE JIM MCCLENDON PARKWAY.

9 WHEREAS, Senator Jim McClendon will soon conclude
10 his tenure in the Alabama Legislature, where he has
11 represented his fellow residents of Shelby, St. Clair, and
12 Talladega Counties for nearly two decades; and
13 WHEREAS, Senator McClendon was elected to the House
14 of Representatives in 2002; following three terms representing
15 House District 50, Mr. McClendon was elected to the Alabama
16 Senate to represent District 11; and
17 WHEREAS, while in the Alabama Legislature, Senator
18 McClendon has served in a multitude of capacities, including,
19 but certainly not limited to: Chairman of the Senate
20 Healthcare Committee; Chairman of the Senate Health and Human
21 Services Committee; Chairman of the Ethics Committee; Chairman
22 of the House Redistricting Committee; Chairman of the State
23 Health Coordinating Council Hospital Committee; and membership
24 on many other committees; and

1 WHEREAS, this body finds it necessary and proper to
2 honor and recognize Senator McClendon's service to the State
3 of Alabama; and
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
5 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the portion of U.S. Highway
6 411 in St. Clair County, from Moody to the Etowah County line,
7 be named the Jim McClendon Parkway.
8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the appropriate
9 officials place and maintain signs or markers on that portion
10 of United States Highway 411 designated as the Jim McClendon
11 Parkway.
