21-9 WHEREAS, Senator Jim McClendon will soon conclude
22-10 his tenure in the Alabama Legislature, where he has
23-11 represented his fellow residents of Shelby, St. Clair, and
24-12 Talladega Counties for nearly two decades; and
25-13 WHEREAS, Senator McClendon was elected to the House
26-14 of Representatives in 2002; following three terms representing
27-15 House District 50, Mr. McClendon was elected to the Alabama
28-16 Senate to represent District 11; and
29-17 WHEREAS, while in the Alabama Legislature, Senator
30-18 McClendon has served in a multitude of capacities, including,
31-19 but certainly not limited to: Chairman of the Senate
32-20 Healthcare Committee; Chairman of the Senate Health and Human
33-21 Services Committee; Chairman of the Ethics Committee; Chairman
34-22 of the House Redistricting Committee; Chairman of the State
35-23 Health Coordinating Council Hospital Committee; and membership
36-24 on many other committees; and

38-1 WHEREAS, this body finds it necessary and proper to

4243 5 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the portion of U.S. Highway
4344 6 411 in St. Clair County, from Moody to the Etowah County line,
4445 7 be named the Jim McClendon Parkway.
4546 8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the appropriate
4647 9 officials place and maintain signs or markers on that portion
4748 10 of United States Highway 411 designated as the Jim McClendon
4849 11 Parkway.
