	15	+	AN ACT
15	16		Relating to Butler County; to provide for the salary of
16	17		the Coroner of Butler County; and to repeal Section 45-7-60 of
17	18		the Code of Alabama 1975, providing for an expense allowance
18	19		for the coroner.
19	20		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
20	21		Section 1.(a) Effective October 1, 2023, the Coroner of
21	22		Butler County shall receive a salary in the amount of one
22	23		thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) per month to be paid in
23	24		monthly installments from the county general fund. The salary
24	25		provided in this section shall be the only compensation of the
25	26		coroner and shall be in lieu of all other compensation,
26	27		salary, expenses, or fees of the coroner except as expressly
27	28		provided in this section. The coroner shall waive any other
28	29		compensation, expenses, or fees in order to receive the salary
29	30		provided by this section.
30	31		(b) In addition to the salary provided in subsection
31	32		(a), the Butler County Commission may pay expenses of the
32	33		coroner related to attending continuing education relating to
33	34		the performance of the duties of the coroner. In addition, the
34	35		Butler County Commission may pay for or reimburse the coroner
35		-	for purchase of supplies specifically related to the
36		-	performance of the duties of the coroner.
37		-	Section 2. All laws or parts of laws in conflict with
38		-	this act are repealed. Section 45-7-60 of the Code of Alabama
39		-	1975, providing an expense allowance for the coroner, is
