	15	+	AN ACT
14	16		Relating to St. Clair County; to amend Section 4 of Act
15	17		85-435, 1985 Regular Session (Acts 1985, p. 403); and to
16	18		create and provide for the distribution of an additional
17	19		license tag fee of two dollars ($2).
18	20		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
19	21		Section 1. Section 4 of Act 85-435, 1985 Regular
20	22		Session (Acts 1985, p. 403), is amended to read as follows:
21	23		"Section 4. (a) Except as hereinafter provided, the
22	24		probate judge judge of probate shall be entitled to charge and
23	25		collect the same fees that are provided for by law. For the
24	26		performance of duties relative to the recording of the
25	27		transfer of the ownership of motor vehicles as prescribed in
26	28		the Code of Alabama 1975, said probate judge the judge of
27	29		probate shall charge and collect a fee of $1.00one dollar
28	30		($1). All such fees shall be the property of the county and
29	31		shall be paid to the general fund of the county. Refunds for
30	32		licenses issued by mistake or fact of law shall be made under
31	33		the conditions and in the manner prescribed by the Code of
32	34		Alabama 1975.
33	35		(b) Commencing on the effective date of the act adding
34		-	this subsection, the judge of probate shall charge and collect
35		-	a fee of two dollars ($2) for the issuance of all license
36		-	tags. This fee shall be in addition to all other charges,
37		-	assessments, and fees for license tags, and shall be deposited
38		-	in the Sheriff's Law Enforcement Fund to be used for law

	65	+	this subsection, the judge of probate shall charge and collect

	67	+	tags. This fee shall be in addition to all other charges,
	68	+	assessments, and fees for license tags, and shall be deposited
	69	+	in the Sheriff's Law Enforcement Fund to be used for law
68	70		enforcement purposes in the county on requisition by the
69	71		sheriff."
70	72		Section 2. This act shall become effective on the first
71	73		day of the third month following its passage and approval by
72	74		the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
