	15	+	AN ACT
16	16		Relating to St. Clair County; to further provide for
17	17		the expense allowance and salary of the Revenue Commissioner
18	18		of St. Clair County.
19	19		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
20	20		Section 1. (a) Effective beginning on the first day of
21	21		the month following the effective date of this act, the
22	22		Revenue Commissioner of St. Clair County shall receive an
23	23		additional expense account in an amount equal to the
24	24		difference in the salary of the Revenue Commissioner of St.
25	25		Clair County on the effective date of this act and the salary
26	26		of the Judge of Probate of St. Clair County payable in equal
27	27		monthly installments from the general fund of the county. This
28	28		expense allowance shall be in lieu of any other expense
29	29		allowance the Revenue Commissioner of St. Clair County is
30	30		receiving.
31	31		(b) Effective beginning the next term of office after
32	32		the effective date of this act, the Revenue Commissioner of
33	33		St. Clair County shall receive an annual salary equal to the
34	34		salary of the Judge of Probate of St. Clair County and
35	35		subsection (a) shall be void.
36		-	Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately
37		-	following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its
38		-	otherwise becoming law.

	65	+	(c) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 11-2A-4,
	66	+	Code of Alabama 1975, or any other law to the contrary,
	67	+	beginning the next term of office after the effective date of
	68	+	this act, the Revenue Commissioner of St. Clair County shall
	69	+	continue to be entitled to the same uniform increases in
	70	+	compensation, such as cost-of-living increases, received by
	71	+	other elected county officers, and the amount of the annual
	72	+	increase shall be added to the permanent salary of the Revenue
	73	+	Commissioner of St. Clair County.
	74	+	Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately
	75	+	following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its
	76	+	otherwise becoming law.
