House Bill 211 as introduced creates the Air Medal distinctive license plate. The fee for the
plate would be the same as for standard vehicles ($23) with an additional annual fee of $25. The
standard fee would be distributed as follows:
State General Fund $10.00
Public Road and Bridge Fund $ 9.30
Municipalities $ 2.52
Counties $ 1.18
Total $23.00
The $25 additional fee would be distributed as follows:
2.5% Commission to License Plate Issuing Official$ 0.63
Department of Corrections $ 1.50
Department of Revenue Administrative Cost $ 1.00
Department of Senior Services $ 5.00
Alabama Veterans' Assistance Fund $16.87
Total $25.00
Additionally, this bill could increase the administrative obligations of the Department of
Veterans Affairs by a small undetermined amount to provide Veterans license plate applicants a
certificate of eligibility.
