A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to Lamar County, to revise the compensation of
the county coroner.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. (a) Beginning on the effective date of this
act, the Coroner of Lamar County shall receive an additional
expense allowance in the amount of two hundred dollars ($200)
per month to be paid out of the county general fund. The
expense allowance shall be in addition to any and all other
compensation, salary, or expense allowances provided by law.
(b) Beginning with the next term of office, the expense
allowance provided in subsection (a) shall be void, and the
Coroner of Lamar County shall receive a total monthly salary
of three hundred seventy-five dollars ($375), which shall be
in lieu of any other salary or expense allowance provided by
law for the coroner for the performance of his or her official
duties, and shall be in addition to the mileage allowance
provided by Section 45-38-60.01, Code of Alabama 1975.
Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately
following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its
otherwise becoming law.
