| 17 | 18 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |

| 18 | 19 | | Section 1. (a) Beginning on the effective date of this |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | act, the Coroner of Lamar County shall receive an additional |

| 20 | 21 | | expense allowance in the amount of two hundred dollars ($200) |

| 21 | 22 | | per month to be paid out of the county general fund. The |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | expense allowance shall be in addition to any and all other |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | compensation, salary, or expense allowances provided by law. |

| 24 | 25 | | (b) Beginning with the next term of office, the expense |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | allowance provided in subsection (a) shall be void, and the |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Coroner of Lamar County shall receive a total monthly salary |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | of three hundred seventy-five dollars ($375), which shall be |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | in lieu of any other salary or expense allowance provided by |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | law for the coroner for the performance of his or her official |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | duties, and shall be in addition to the mileage allowance |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | provided by Section 45-38-60.01, Code of Alabama 1975. |

| 32 | 33 | | Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately |
