	13	+	SYNOPSIS:
	14	+	Under existing law, the United States Army,
	15	+	United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, United
	16	+	States Air Force, and United States Coast Guard are
	17	+	collectively referred to as the United States Armed
	18	+	Forces.
	19	+	This bill would provide that all references to
	20	+	the United States Armed Forces shall include the United
	21	+	States Space Force.
	22	+	A BILL
	23	+	TO BE ENTITLED
	24	+	AN ACT
15	25		Relating to the United States Armed Forces; to include
16	26		the United States Space Force in all collective references to
17	27		the United States Armed Forces.
18	28		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
19	29		§31-1-8
20	30		Section 1. Section 31-1-8 is added to the Code of
21	31		Alabama 1975, to read as follows:
22	32		(a) The United States Space Force was established on
23	33		December 20, 2019, under the National Defense Authorization
24	34		Act as the first new branch of the United States Armed Forces
25		-	in 73 years.
26		-	(b) The mission of the United State Space Force is to
27		-	conduct global space operations to enhance joint and coalition
28		-	military operation.
29		-	(c) All verbal and written collective references to the
30		-	United States Armed Forces shall include the United States
31		-	Space Force.
32		-	Section 2. The Code Commissioner shall change all
33		-	collective references to the United States Armed Forces to
34		-	include the United States Space Force in Title 31 and
35		-	elsewhere as found in this code. Code changes shall be made at
36		-	a time determined appropriate by the Code Commissioner.
37		-	Section 3. This act shall become effective on the first
38		-	day of the third month following its passage and approval by
39		-	the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
