15+AN ACT
1616 Relating to Chambers County; to further provide for the
1717 expense allowance and salary of the Revenue Commissioner of
1818 Chambers County.
1919 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2020 Section 1. (a) Effective beginning on the first day of
2121 the month following the effective date of this act, the
2222 Revenue Commissioner of Chambers County shall receive an
2323 additional expense allowance so that the expense allowance and
2424 the salary of the revenue commissioner is equal to eighty-four
2525 thousand dollars ($84,000) per year payable in equal monthly
2626 installments. This expense allowance shall be in addition to
2727 any other salary, expense allowance, or compensation the
2828 revenue commissioner is receiving. The expense allowance
2929 provided by this subsection shall be treated as salary for
3030 retirement purposes.
3131 (b) Effective beginning the next term of office after
3232 the effective date of this act, the annual salary of the
3333 revenue commissioner shall be eighty-four thousand dollars
3434 ($84,000) per year and at that time subsection (a) shall be
35-void.
36-(c) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 11-2A-4,
37-Code of Alabama 1975, or any other law to the contrary,
38-effective beginning October 1, 2024, and thereafter, pursuant
39-to the provisions of this act, the revenue commissioner shall
40-be entitled to the same uniform increases in compensation,

65+(c) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 11-2A-4,
66+Code of Alabama 1975, or any other law to the contrary,
67+effective beginning October 1, 2024, and thereafter, pursuant
68+to the provisions of this act, the revenue commissioner shall
69+be entitled to the same uniform increases in compensation,
7070 such as cost-of-living increases, received by any other
7171 elected county officer. The uniform increases shall be paid to
7272 the revenue commissioner as expense allowances during the term
7373 of the revenue commissioner and shall be treated as salary for
7474 retirement purposes. At the end of each term, the amount of
7575 any uniform increases during the term shall be added to the
7676 permanent salary of the revenue commissioner effective
7777 beginning the next term of the revenue commissioner.
7878 (d) The expense allowance and salary provided by this
7979 section shall be paid from any fund or funds from which the
8080 salary of the revenue commissioner is currently paid.
8181 Section 2. All laws or parts of laws which conflict
8282 with this act are repealed.
8383 Section 3. This act shall become effective immediately
8484 following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its
8585 otherwise becoming law.
