15 | 16 | Relating to Talladega County; to provide for the | |
16 | 17 | operation and management of an inmate commissary at the county | |

18 | 19 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: | |
19 | 20 | Section 1. This act shall be operative only in | |
20 | 21 | Talladega County. | |
21 | 22 | Section 2. The Sheriff of Talladega County may operate | |
22 | 23 | and manage a commissary to sell various items to inmates of | |
23 | 24 | the county jail and may use correctional officers to assist in | |
24 | 25 | the operation and management of the commissary. | |
25 | 26 | Section 3. The sheriff shall maintain a record of all | |
26 | 27 | transactions relative to the operation of the commissary for | |
27 | 28 | purposes of auditing by the Department of Examiners of Public | |
28 | 29 | Accounts. | |
29 | 30 | Section 4. All profits from the sale of items through | |
30 | 31 | the commissary shall be used by the sheriff to operate and | |
31 | 32 | supply the county jail and any legitimate law enforcement | |
32 | 33 | purpose at the discretion of the Sheriff of Talladega County. | |
33 | 34 | Section 5. This act shall become effective on the first | |
34 | 35 | day of the third month following its passage and approval by | |
