17 | 19 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |

18 | 20 | | Section 1. (a) The Judge of Probate of Calhoun County |
---|
19 | 21 | | shall receive an annual salary equal to the state base salary |
---|
20 | 22 | | paid to a state district court judge. In addition, the judge |
---|
21 | 23 | | of probate shall be entitled to any increases in salary, |
---|
22 | 24 | | including cost-of-living increases, in the same amount and the |
---|
23 | 25 | | same manner as a district judge having the same number of |
---|
24 | 26 | | cumulative years of service that the judge of probate has at |
---|
25 | 27 | | that time. |
---|
26 | 28 | | (b) The salary provided by this section shall be in |
---|
27 | 29 | | lieu of any and all other prior compensation or salary, not |
---|
28 | 30 | | including any expense allowance, provided by law to the judge |
---|
29 | 31 | | of probate, and shall be paid in equal periodic installments |
---|
30 | 32 | | from the general fund of the county. |
---|
31 | 33 | | (c) In order to receive the compensation provided under |
---|
32 | 34 | | subsection (a), the judge of probate shall waive any |
---|
33 | 35 | | compensation provided under Section 17-3-60, Code of Alabama |
---|
