1818 AN ACT
1919 Relating to Montgomery County; to provide for the
2020 creation, funding, and operation of the Montgomery County
2121 Legislative Delegation Fund and the Montgomery County
2222 Legislative Delegation Office.
2323 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2424 Section 1. (a) The Montgomery County Commission shall
2525 create the Montgomery County Legislative Delegation Fund.
2626 (b) The commission shall deposit at least three hundred
2727 twenty-five thousand dollars ($325,000) into the fund at the
2828 beginning of each fiscal year.
2929 (c) The commission shall immediately pay amounts from
3030 the fund as the Montgomery County Legislative Delegation may
3131 request.
3232 (d)(1) The commission shall employ an office manager
3333 and two administrative assistants to assist in the daily
3434 management of the office.
3535 (2) In addition to the annual deposit into the fund
3636 required by this section, the commission shall be responsible
3737 for the wages and benefits of the three office employees.
3838 (3) The three office employees shall be selected with

6868 the advice and consent of the members of the delegation.
6969 (4) The three office employees shall report to the
7070 chair of the delegation, and their official duties shall be
7171 limited to support of the members of the delegation and the
7272 delegation office.
7373 (e) The delegation shall expend the monies to acquire
7474 equipment, supplies, services, and all other items necessary
7575 to establish, equip, and maintain a legislative office for the
7676 members of the delegation, and may also expend the monies for
7777 other purposes, including grants for allowable public purposes
7878 at the discretion and direction of the delegation.
7979 (f)(1) The largest city in Montgomery County shall
8080 provide adequate office space for the Montgomery County
8181 Legislative Delegation Office, including telephone service,
8282 Internet service, electricity, water, and any other necessary
8383 utility services.
8484 (2) The office space location shall be selected with
8585 the advice and consent of the members of the delegation.
8686 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the first
8787 day of the third month following its passage and approval by
8888 the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
