15+AN ACT
1416 Relating to Lamar County, to amend Section 45-38-101,
1517 Code of Alabama 1975, to provide further for the compensation
1618 and expense reimbursement of the county superintendent of
1719 education.
1820 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
1921 Section 1. Section 45-38-101 of the Code of Alabama
2022 1975, is amended to read as follows:
2123 "ยง45-38-101
2224 Beginning with the next term of office, the county
2325 superintendent of education in Lamar County shall receive an
2426 annual salary which shall not be more than 25 percent in
2527 excess of the highest salary paid to any other employee in the
2628 county school system. The salary herein provided for the
2729 superintendent that shall be fixed by the county board of
2830 education and shall be payable in equal monthly installments
2931 out of the county funds available for such that purpose. In
3032 addition to such the salary, the superintendent shall furnish
3133 his or her own automobile and shall be reimbursed for
3234 out-of-county and out-of-state travel on official business at
3335 the rate of twenty cents ($.20) per mile and on an actual
34-expense basis for any other expenses incurred in performance
35-of official duties same per diem and mileage as provided to
36-state employees."
37-Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately
38-following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its
