2825 HJR____ URGING THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION TO AFFIRM REDSTONE
2926 ARSENAL AS THE FUTURE LOCATION OF THE U.S. SPACE COMMAND.
3027 WHEREAS, the headquarters of the U.S. Space Command
3128 is located in Colorado on a temporary basis until
3229 evidence-based strategic and analytical processes to
3330 determine a permanent base are completed; and
3431 WHEREAS, during the process of evaluating possible
3532 permanent locations for the headquarters of the U.S. Space
3633 Command, Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, has
3734 continually earned top scores in each stage of the process
3835 over 65 other possible locations; and
3936 WHEREAS, Redstone Arsenal is uniquely accessible by
4037 rail, water, air, and highway; NASA's Marshall Space Flight
4138 Center and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency are located on
4239 the Redstone Aresenal campus with an existing world-class
4340 aerospace and defense workforce; the City of Huntsville has
4441 affordable cost-of-living, access to quality K-12 and
4542 university education, existing infrastructure supporting
4643 Alabama's most populous city, and job opportunities for
4744 spouses; and
4845 WHEREAS, in January 2021, the United States
4946 Department of the Air Force selected Redstone Arsenal as the
5047 preferred location for the permanent headquarters of the
5148 U.S. Space Command; this decision was affirmed by the United
