Relating to the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene; to amend Sections 34-9-1, 34-9-5, 34-9-10, 34-9-11, 34-9-15, 34-9-26, 34-9-27, 34-9-43, 34-9-60, 34-9-63, and 34-9-86, Code of Alabama 1975; to further provide for penalties for violations; and qualifications for licensure and administration of controlled substances by dentists and dental hygienists.
Relating to the practice of pharmacy; to authorize a licensed pharmacist to prescribe certain vaccines; and to require pharmacists who administer vaccines to individuals under 19 years of age to also recommend annual well-child visits to a pediatrician.
Relating to the practice of dentistry; to amend Sections 34-9-1, 34-9-3, 34-9-6, 34-9-13, 34-9-15.1, and 34-9-18, Code of Alabama 1975, and to add Sections 34-9-6.2 and 34-9-19.2 to the Code of Alabama 1975, to provide for the use of teledentistry orthodontia services in the state by licensed dentists; to provide certain requirements for advertisements featuring teledentistry; and to require the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama to adopt rules relating to teledentistry.
Relating to pharmacists and the dispensing of emergency refills of medication; to amend Section 34-33-75 of the Code of Alabama 1975, to increase the supply of medication that may be dispensed in a one-time emergency refill to include the smallest dispensable package size of a medication; and to further provide for the notice to the prescriber after dispensing.
Relating to prescription drugs; to provide for the dispensing of Ivermectin by a pharmacist without an individual prescription pursuant to a standing order issued by a physician, physician's assistant, or certified registered nurse practitioner; to protect physicians, physician's assistants, certified registered nurse practitioners, and pharmacists from licensure disciplinary action due to dispensing Ivermectin.
