BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. Commencing for the first month after the effective date of this act, the Coroner of Talladega County shall receive an additional expense allowance in the amount of eight thousand dollars ($8,000) per year, which shall be in addition to all other expense allowances, compensation, or salary provided by law. This expense allowance shall be payable in equal monthly installments from the general fund of the county each month. Section 2. Beginning with the expiration of the term of the incumbent Coroner of Talladega County, the annual salary for the Coroner shall be twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) per year, payable in equal monthly installments from the general fund of the county and at that time, Section 1 shall become void. This salary shall be the total compensation of the coroner and shall be in lieu of any other compensation, salary, or expense allowance otherwise provided to the coroner. Section 3. Effective on the expiration of the current term of the Coroner of Talladega County, Act 2001-491 of the 2001 Regular Session (Acts 2001, p. 858) is repealed and any part of Act 2097 of the 1971 Regular Session (Acts 1971, p. 3364) providing for compensation to the coroner is repealed and superseded.
