1618 Relating to St. Clair County; providing for an
1719 additional expense allowance and salary for the coroner and
1820 deputy coroner.
1921 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2022 Section 1. (a) Commencing on October 1, 2024, the
2123 Coroner of St. Clair County shall be entitled to an additional
2224 expense allowance in the amount of five hundred twenty-five
2325 dollars ($525) per month, which shall be in addition to all
2426 other expense allowances, compensation, or salary provided by
2527 law. This expense allowance shall be payable monthly from the
2628 general fund of the county.
2729 (b) Beginning with the expiration of the term of the
2830 incumbent coroner, the expense allowance for the coroner
2931 provided in subsection (a) and any other expense allowance
3032 provided for the coroner prior to the effect date of this act
3133 shall be converted to salary, payable monthly from the general
3234 fund of the county and at that time subsection (a) and any
3335 other expense allowance provided to the coroner prior to the
3436 effective date of this act shall become void.
35-Section 2. (a) Commencing on October 1, 2024, the
36-Deputy Coroner of St. Clair County shall be entitled to an
37-additional expense allowance in the amount of two thousand six
38-hundred dollars ($2600) per year, which shall be in addition
39-to all other expense allowances, compensation, or salary
40-provided by law. This expense allowance shall be payable
41-monthly from the general fund of the county.

66+Section 2. (a) Commencing on October 1, 2024, the
67+Deputy Coroner of St. Clair County shall be entitled to an
68+additional expense allowance in the amount of two thousand six
69+hundred dollars ($2600) per year, which shall be in addition
70+to all other expense allowances, compensation, or salary
71+provided by law. This expense allowance shall be payable
7172 monthly from the general fund of the county.
7273 (b) Beginning with the expiration of the term of the
7374 incumbent coroner, any expense allowance for the deputy
7475 coroner provided in subsection (a) and any other expense
7576 allowances provided for the assistant coroner or deputy
7677 coroner of the county by any names known prior to the
7778 effective date of this act shall be converted to salary and at
7879 that time subsection (a) and any other expense allowance
7980 provided to the deputy coroner or the assistant coroner shall
8081 become void. The position shall be known as the Deputy Coroner
8182 of St. Clair County and the salary shall be payable monthly
8283 from the general fund of the county
8384 Section 3. This act shall become effective on October
8485 1, 2024, upon its passage and approval by the Governor, or
8586 upon its otherwise becoming a law.
