| 19 | 21 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: | |
| 20 | 22 | Section 1. (a) The Sheriff of Tallapoosa County may | |
| 21 | 23 | charge and collect reasonable fees for administrative services | |
| 22 | 24 | including, but not limited to, fees for fingerprinting, fees | |
| 23 | 25 | for criminal history investigations and reports thereon when | |
| 24 | 26 | otherwise authorized by law, and fees for copies of various | |
| 25 | 27 | requested records. The fees shall not be charged for a service | |
| 26 | 28 | requested on behalf of a law enforcement agency for a law | |
| 27 | 29 | enforcement purpose, nor shall the fees apply to a person | |
| 28 | 30 | applying for a pistol permit. | |
| 29 | 31 | (b) The sheriff shall remit the fees collected pursuant | |
| 30 | 32 | to this act periodically to the Tallapoosa County Commission | |
| 31 | 33 | for deposit in the county general fund. | |
| 32 | 34 | Section 2. This act shall become effective June 1, | |
| 33 | 35 | 2024. | |
