A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To alter and rearrange the boundary lines and corporate
limits of the City of Childersburg in and the Town of Bon Air
in Talladega County to remove certain property from the
corporate limits of the Town of Bon Air and add the property
to the City of Childersburg.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. The boundary lines and corporate limits of
the City of Childersburg and the Town of Bon Air in Talladega
County are altered and rearranged to remove from the corporate
limits of the Town of Bon Air all of the following territory
and to add the territory to the City of Childersburg:
26.38 acre tract
Commence at a 1" pipe in place being the Southeast
corner of the Northeast one-fourth of the Southeast one-fourth
of Section 29, Township 20 South, Range 3 East, Talladega
County, Alabama; thence proceed South 00° 56' 10" West along
the West boundary of the Southwest one-fourth of the Southwest
one-fourth for a distance of 230.62 feet to a railroad rail in
place thence proceed North 59° 37' 32" East for a distance of
343.65 feet to a 5/8" capped rebar in place (Bailey), proceed
North 59° 22' 17" East for a distance of 299.99 feet; thence
proceed North 30° 40' 22" West for a distance of 725.99 feet
to a 5/8" capped rebar in place (Bailey), said point being

to a 5/8" capped rebar in place (Bailey), said point being
located on the Southerly right-of-way of Faye S. Perry Drive; 
thence proceed North 59° 07' 42" East along the Southerly
right-of-way of said road for a distance of 1081.27 feet to a
½" rebar in place, said point being the P. C. of a concave
curve left having an arc distance of 266.72 feet and a radius
of 2474.99 feet; thence proceed Northeasterly along the
Southerly right-of-way of said road and along the curvature of
said curve for a chord bearing and distance of North 55° 51'
49" East, 266.59 feet to the point of beginning. From this
beginning point continue Northeasterly along the Southerly
right-of-way of said Faye S. Perry Drive and the curvature of
a concave curve left having an arc distance of 346.58 feet and
a radius of 2472.99 feet for a chord bearing and distance of
North 48° 45' 53" east, 346.30 feet to a ½" rebar in place;
thence proceed South 38° 49' 16" East for a distance of
1151.26 feet to a ½" rebar in place;  thence proceed South 34°
16' 12" East for a distance of 234.25 feet; thence proceed
South 57° 16' 18" West for a distance of 250.09 feet; thence
proceed South 34° 16' 13" East for a distance of 207.72 feet
to a point on the Northerly right-of-way of Lower Bon Air
Road; thence proceed South 60° 10' 49" West along the
Northerly right-of-way of said Lower Bon Air Road for a
distance of 297.25 feet to a ½ rebar in place; thence proceed
North 44° 30' 42" West for a distance of 50.68 feet; thence
proceed North 65° 16' 45" West for a distance of 47.39 feet;
thence proceed North 40° 33' 27" West for a distance of 68.20
feet; thence proceed North 34° 42' 53" West for a distance of
60.96 feet to a ½" rebar in place; thence proceed South 55°

17' 47" West for a distance of 188.86 feet to a ½" rebar in
place; thence proceed North 28° 48' 29" West for a distance of
23.23 feet to a ½" rebar in place (CA #0114); thence proceed
South 61° 14' 48" West for a distance of 200.00 feet to a ½"
rebar in place (CA #0114); thence proceed South 28° 48' 29"
East for a distance of 52.81 feet; thence proceed North 81°
08' 06" West for a distance of 300.44 feet; thence proceed
North 00° 20' 48" East for a distance of 1342.45 feet to the
point of beginning. 
The above described land is located in the Southeast
one-fourth of the Northwest one-fourth, the Northeast
one-fourth of the Southwest one-fourth and the Southeast
one-fourth of the Southwest one-fourth of Section 28, 
Township 20 South, Range 3 East, Talladega County, Alabama and
contains 26.38 acres.
Section 2. In accordance with Section 11-42-6 of the
Code of Alabama 1975, a map showing the proposed territory to
be removed from the Town of Bon Air and added to the City of
Childersburg is on file and open to public inspection in the
Office of the Judge of Probate in Talladega County.
Section 3. This act shall become effective June 1,
2024.
