HR____ MOURNING THE DEATH OF MRS. EDDYE LOUISE GLOVER
SANDERSON.
WHEREAS, it is with profound sadness that we note the
death on April 26, 2024, of Mrs. Eddye Louise Glover
Sanderson of Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 97 years;
and 
WHEREAS, her passing leaves a void in the lives of
her loving family, many friends, and the entire community
where she was highly regarded; and 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Sanderson was born on June 6, 1928, in
Lowndes County, Alabama, in the township of Calhoun, now
known as Letohatchee; and 
WHEREAS, she received her elementary education at the
Alabama Christian Learning Institute and her secondary
education at the Calhoun School for Colored Children, now
Calhoun High School; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Sanderson earned her undergraduate
degrees in Business Administration from Booker T. Washington
Business College and Christian Education from the Birmingham
Baptist Bible College; she received a legal secretarial
certification from Samford University and earned a Master of
Education Degree from Alabama State University in
Montgomery, Alabama; and
WHEREAS, in 1946, Mrs. Sanderson was united in

WHEREAS, in 1946, Mrs. Sanderson was united in
matrimony with her high school sweetheart, Corporal Robert
L. Sanderson, a World War II veteran in the United States
Marine Corps; this union was blessed with two daughters and
one son; they were married for 57 years until his death in
2003; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Sanderson confessed Christ at an early
age under the pastorate of Reverend James Ellis McCall and 
united with Big Union Christian Church, Disciples of Christ;
after moving to Birmingham, she united with 11th Street
Christian Church, Disciples of Christ and ultimately New
Vision Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, where she was
an active member until her death; and 
WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her parents; 
husband; sisters, Helen Taylor, Clara Graves, and Dororthy
Mae Wise; brothers, Robert Joe Glover, Charlies Glover, and
Willie James Glover; and son, Reginold Sanderson, Sr.; and
WHEREAS, survivors include her daughters, Eusebia
Sanderson and Bacarra Maulden (George, Jr.); eight
grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert
Glover; sisters, Jacqueline Commons, Carolyn
Lawson-Humphries, Shirley Cammon (Joe), and Myrtle Mae
Johnson; special friend, Samuel Jones; and a host of other
relatives and friends; now therefore,  
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Mrs. Eddye Louise
Glover Sanderson is recorded with deep sadness and this
resolution is offered in tribute to her life and with
heartfelt sympathy to her family, whose grief is shared by
