| 24 | 24 | Relating to sheriffs; to authorize sheriffs to conduct | |
| 25 | 25 | fundraising events within their respective counties; to | |
| 26 | 26 | provide for the proceeds of a fundraising event to support the | |
| 27 | 27 | operations of their respective offices; and to ratify and | |
| 28 | 28 | confirm certain prior actions. | |
| 29 | 29 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: | |
| 30 | 30 | Section 1. (a) A county sheriff may conduct fundraising | |
| 31 | 31 | events within his or her respective county including, but not | |
| 32 | 32 | limited to, rodeos and may use the proceeds and profits from | |
| 33 | 33 | the events for any lawful purpose relating to the operation of | |
| 34 | 34 | the office of the sheriff. | |
| 35 | 35 | (b) This section is remedial and curative and any | |
| 36 | 36 | actions taken by a sheriff in conformance with subsection (a) | |
