Enrolled, An Act,
Relating to Marshall County; to specify those employees
of the sheriff's office who are required to complete certain
training and continuing education requirements.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. Section 45-48-230.20, Code of Alabama 1975,
is amended to read as follows:
"ยง45-48-230.20
(a) All employees law enforcement officers of the
Marshall County Sheriff's Office who are certified by the
Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission
shall be required to complete training and continuing
education.
(b) The training and continuing education shall be
outlined by the sheriff and shall meet minimum requirements
adopted by the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training
Commission.
(c) The training and continuing education shall be
funded by the county commission."
Section 2. This act shall become effective on October
1, 2024.
