Relating to underserved communities; to amend Sections 41-23-150, 41-23-151, 41-23-152, and 41-23-153, Code of Alabama 1975, to change the name of the Healthy Food Financing Fund; to further provide for the types of facilities where monies can be used; to further provide for the ways monies can be used; and to limit the sources of funding available under the program.
To make an appropriation of $169,633 from the State General Fund to the Coalition Against Domestic Violence for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, to require an operations plan and an audited financial statement prior to the release of any funds, and to require quarterly and end of the year performance reports.
Relating to the Retirement Systems of Alabama; to amend Section 36-27-59, Code of Alabama 1975, to remove the time limit for purchasing hazardous duty time for prior eligible service for certain firefighters, law enforcement officers, and correctional officers covered under the Employees' Retirement System or the Teachers' Retirement System as Tier I plan members.
To amend Section 12-17-81 of the Code of Alabama 1975, to further provide for the salary of all circuit clerks in the Unified Judicial System based on the pay plan adopted by the personnel system of the Unified Judicial System.
Income Taxes; to make technical changes to the funding provisions of the CHOOSE Act credits and increase funding, and to extend the sunset date for deductions for ABLE contributions.
Relating to retired justices and judges; to amend Sections 12-18-10 and 12-18-61, Code of Alabama 1975, to revise the compensation received by retired justices and judges who are called to active duty; to require retired justices and judges be paid per diem and mileage and be provided court-supportive personnel; to require continuing legal education annually; and to make nonsubstantive, technical revisions to update the existing code language to current style.
Relating to state employee travel expenses; to amend Sections 36-7-20 and 36-7-21, Code of Alabama, to provide that a person traveling inside the State of Alabama in the service of the state or any of its departments, institutions, boards, bureaus, commissions, councils, committees, or other like agencies to be provided the uniform per diem or to be reimbursed for their actual out-of-pocket expenses when traveling within the state on official business.
