House Bill 123 as introduced would increase the membership of the Alabama State Board of
Pharmacy from 9 members to 13 members, which would increase the obligations of the board
for per diem and travel expenses by an estimated $17,000 annually.
Further, this bill could increase or decrease receipts to the board by an undetermined amount
dependent on the difference in: (1) the amount of civil penalties imposed by the board, up to
$1000, as provided by this bill; and (2) the amount of administrative penalties otherwise
imposed under current law.
This bill could also increase receipts to the board by an undetermined amount dependent on the
rates set by the board for delinquent fines, up to $1000, as provided by this bill.
This bill would also cap the pharmacy technician license fee at $60 and provide for the
continuance of the board until October 1, 2026 pursuant to the Alabama Sunset Law.
