A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to criminal procedure; to amend Section
15-9-41, Code of Alabama 1975; to further provide for the
arrest of an individual for an out-of-state warrant.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. Section 15-9-41, Code of Alabama 1975, is
amended to read as follows:
"ยง15-9-41
The arrest of a person an individual may be lawfully
made also by an officer or a private citizen without a warrant
upon reasonable information that the accused stands charged 	in
the courts of another state with a crime punishable by death
or life imprisonment in the courts of another state for a term
exceeding one year . When so arrested, the accused must be
taken before a district or circuit court judge with all
practicable speed , and the complaint must be made against him
or her under oath setting forth the ground for the arrest as
in Section 15-9-40 ,.and thereafter Thereafter, his or her
answer shall be heard as if he or she had been arrested on a
warrant."
Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately.
