17+SYNOPSIS:
18+Under existing law, a minor 14 years of age or
19+older may give consent for medical, dental, and mental
20+health services for himself or herself without
21+parental consent.
22+This bill would require the written consent of
23+a parent or a legal guardian for any minor to receive
24+a vaccination, unless the minor is living
25+independently from his or her parent or legal
26+guardian.

1929 AN ACT
2030 Relating to vaccines; to amend Section 22-8-4, Code of
2131 Alabama 1975; to require written consent of a parent or legal
2232 guardian for any minor to receive a vaccination, with
2333 exception.
2434 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2535 Section 1. Section 22-8-4, Code of Alabama 1975, is
2636 amended to read as follows:
2737 "ยง22-8-4
2838 (a) Any minor who is 14 years of age or older, or has
29-graduated from high school, or is married, or having been
30-married is divorced , or is pregnant may give effective consent
31-to any legally authorized medical, dental, health or mental
32-health services for himself or herself, and the consent of no
33-other person shall be is necessary.
34-(b) Notwithstanding subsection (a), an unemancipated
35-minor may not give consent to the administration of a
36-vaccination for himself or herself without the written consent
37-of a parent or legal guardian. Additionally, an unemancipated
38-minor may not give consent to the administration of a
39-vaccination for himself or herself unless the minor is: (i)

68+(a) Any minor who is 14 years of age or older, or has
