17+SYNOPSIS:
18+This bill would provide that a criminal
19+defendant who is an illegal alien who is convicted of a
20+felony offense must receive an enhanced sentence.
21+This bill would also provide that a criminal
22+defendant who is an illegal alien who is convicted of a
23+misdemeanor where the victim was a minor shall be
24+sentenced to a Class C felony.

1927 AN ACT
2028 Relating to crimes and offenses; to provide that a
2129 defendant who is an illegal alien who is convicted of a
2230 criminal offense must receive an enhanced sentence in certain
2331 circumstances.
2432 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2533 Section 1. (a) For the purpose of this section "illegal
2634 alien" means an individual not entitled to lawfully reside or
2735 work in the United States.
2836 (b) In all cases when it is shown that a criminal
2937 defendant, who is an illegal alien, has been convicted of a
30-felony where the victim is a minor, he or she must be punished
31-as follows:
32-(1) On a conviction of a Class D felony, for a Class C
33-felony.
34-(2) On a conviction of a Class C felony, for a Class B
35-felony.
36-(3) On a conviction of a Class B felony, for a Class A
37-felony.
38-(4) On a conviction of a Class A felony, by
38+felony, he or she must be punished as follows:

73+(3) On a conviction of a Class B felony, for a Class A

6875 (4) On a conviction of a Class A felony, by
6976 imprisonment for life or for any term of not more than 99
7077 years, but not less than 15 years.
7178 (c) In all cases when it is shown that a criminal
7279 defendant, who is an illegal alien, has been convicted of a
7380 misdemeanor offense where the victim is a minor, he or she
7481 shall be punished for a Class C felony.
7582 Section 2. This act shall become effective on October
