House Bill 362 as reported by the Committee on County and Municipal Government would
increase the obligations of local governing bodies and local boards of education by an
undetermined amount dependent on the cost to: (1) record open and public meetings; (2) publish
the recordings onto their corresponding websites; and (3) provide instructions on how to access
the recorded meetings on each website.
This bill would have an estimated aggregate fiscal impact of greater than $50,000 annually on
affected local government entities and is subject to the provisions of Section 111.05 of the
Constitution of Alabama of 2022.
