1515 SYNOPSIS:
1616 Under existing law, only an ambulance licensed
1717 by the State Committee of Public Health may transport a
1818 patient who requires a stretcher. An unlicensed medical
1919 transport service may not transport a patient who
2020 requires a stretcher.
2121 This bill would authorize a medical transport
2222 service to transport a patient who requires a
2323 stretcher, gurney, or cot to medical care services in
2424 non emergency medical circumstances.
2525 This bill would also provide that the State
2626 Committee of Public Health may adopt rules to enforce
2727 its provisions.

6767 Section 1. (a) The State Committee of Public Health
6868 shall not prohibit a non emergency medical transport service
6969 from transporting a patient on a stretcher, gurney, or cot,
7070 provided that each of the following apply:
7171 (1) The transport vehicle is designed and equipped to
7272 hold a stretcher, gurney, or cot.
