18	18	Relating to Talladega County; to further provide for
19	19	the compensation of the sheriff; and to repeal Act 188, 1957
20	20	Regular Session (Acts 1957, p. 240), Act 865, 1978 Regular
21	21	Session (Acts 1978, p. 1294), Act 93-565, 1993 Regular Session
22	22	(Acts 1993, p. 944), Act 98-477, 1998 Regular Session (Acts
23	23	1998, p. 919), Act 98-574, 1998 Regular Session (Acts 1998, p.
24	24	1278), Act 2001-466, 2001 Regular Session (Acts 2001, p. 621),
25	25	Act 2004-435, 2004 Regular Session (Acts 2004, p. 435), Act
26	26	2009-374, 2009 Regular Session (Acts 2009, p. 698), and Act
27	27	2021-466, 2021 Regular Session, relating to the compensation
28	28	of the sheriff.
29	29	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
30	30	Section 1. (a) Until January 18, 2027, the Sheriff of
31	31	Talladega County shall continue to receive the same base
32	32	annual salary the sheriff is receiving on May 31, 2025.
33	33	(b) Beginning June 1, 2025, in addition to the base
34	34	annual salary authorized in subsection (a), the sheriff shall
35	35	receive an expense allowance of fifteen thousand two hundred
36	36	dollars and thirty-two cents ($15,200.32) per annum, payable
37	37	in equal monthly installments from the county general fund.

68	68	(c) Beginning January 18, 2027, the sheriff shall
69	69	receive a base annual salary of one hundred twelve thousand
70	70	dollars ($112,000) per annum, payable in equal monthly
71	71	installments from the county general fund, and the salary and
72	72	expense allowance authorized in subsections (a) and (b) are
73	73	void.
74	74	Section 2. Act 188, 1957 Regular Session (Acts 1957, p.
75	75	240), Act 865, 1978 Regular Session (Acts 1978, p. 1294), Act
76	76	93-565, 1993 Regular Session (Acts 1993, p. 944), Act 98-477,

84	84	Section 3. This act shall become effective on June 1,
