| 18 | 18 | | Under existing law, an individual is prohibited |

| 21 | 21 | | possessing a bump stock in a Class 1 municipality. |

| 27 | 27 | | Relating to Class 1 municipalities; to prohibit |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | possession of bump stocks; and to provide criminal penalties |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | for violations. |

| 30 | 30 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |

| 31 | 31 | | Section 1. (a) For the purposes of this section, the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | term "bump stock" means any part, device, accessory, or |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | combination thereof designed or intended to be attached to or |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | installed on a firearm that, when installed on or attached to |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | a firearm, harnesses the recoil energy from firing the firearm |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | to generate a reciprocating action that causes the repeated |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | activation of the firearm's trigger. |
