| 18 | 18 | | Relating to Conecuh County; to provide further for the |

| 19 | 19 | | selection of the chair of the county commission for the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | remainder of the current term of the chair of the county |

| 21 | 21 | | commission; to provide for an additional expense allowance for |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the chair of the county commission for the remainder of the |

| 23 | 23 | | current term; and to provide for the repeal of this act |

| 24 | 24 | | effective at the end of the current term of the chair of the |

| 25 | 25 | | county commission. |

| 26 | 26 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Section 1. This act shall only apply in Conecuh County. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Section 2. Effective June 1, 2025, the county |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | commission shall select the chair of the county commission by |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | majority vote of the members of the county commission to serve |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | for the remainder of the term of the county commission as |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | provided by law. |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Section 3. Effective June 1, 2025, the chair of the |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | county commission shall receive an expense allowance of five |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | hundred dollars ($500) per month. The expense allowance |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | provided in this section shall be payable out of the general |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | fund of the county and shall be in addition to any |
|---|
