| 18 | 18 | Relating to Butler County; to authorize the sheriff to | |
| 19 | 19 | conduct fundraising events; to provide for the use of the | |
| 20 | 20 | proceeds; and to provide that this act is remedial and | |
| 21 | 21 | curative. | |
| 22 | 22 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: | |
| 23 | 23 | Section 1. (a) In Butler County, the sheriff may | |
| 24 | 24 | conduct fundraising events, including, but not limited to, | |
| 25 | 25 | rodeos, and may use the proceeds and profits from the events | |
| 26 | 26 | for any lawful purpose relating to the operation of the office | |
| 27 | 27 | of the sheriff. | |
| 28 | 28 | (b) The provisions of this section are remedial and | |
| 29 | 29 | curative, and any actions taken by the sheriff in conformance | |
| 30 | 30 | with subsection (a) are ratified and confirmed. | |
| 31 | 31 | Section 2. This act shall become effective June 15, | |
| 32 | 32 | 2025. | |
