1515 SYNOPSIS:
1616 Under existing law, the construction plans for a
1717 single family residence with a total area of less than
1818 2,500 square feet does not need the approval of a
1919 registered architect.
2020 This bill would prohibit any county and certain
2121 municipalities from requiring the approval of a
2222 registered architect or professional engineer on plans
2323 for the construction of a single family residence under
2424 three stories in height.

2727 AN ACT
2828 Relating to residential home construction; to prohibit
2929 certain municipalities and all counties from requiring
3030 construction plans for new single family residencies under
3131 three floors in height to be approved by a registered
3232 architect or licensed professional engineer.
3333 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
3434 Section 1. (a) Any provision of Section 34-2-32, Code
3535 of Alabama 1975, to the contrary notwithstanding, no

7070 (b) This section shall not apply to Baldwin County.
7171 Section 2. Any provision of Section 34-2-32, Code of

7676 Section 3. This act shall become effective immediately.
