1818 Relating to Pike County; to amend Act 95-414, 1995
1919 Regular Session (Acts 1995, p. 903), now appearing as Section
2020 45-55-231, Code of Alabama 1975, to further provide for pistol
2121 permit fees.
2222 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2323 Section 1. Act 95-414, 1995 Regular Session (Acts 1995,
2424 p. 903), now appearing as Section 45-55-231, Code of Alabama
2525 1975, is amended to read as follows:
2626 "§45-55-231
2727 (a) In Pike County, the fee for issuance of a permit to
2828 carry a pistol in a vehicle or concealed on or about the
2929 person as provided in Section 13A–11–75, shall be twenty
3030 dollars ($20) per yearfor one year and one hundred dollars
3131 ($100) for five years , which shall be collected by the
3232 sheriff.
3333 (b) Ten dollars ($10) of each Each fee collected under
3434 this section shall be paid to the county treasury and the
3535 remaining ten dollars ($10) of each fee shall be deposited by
3636 the Sheriff of Pike County, or agents of the sheriff, in any
3737 bank located in Pike County into a fund known as the sheriff's

6767 bank located in Pike County into a fund known as the sheriff's

6969 (c) The sheriff's fund Sheriff's Fund provided for by
7070 this section shall be drawn upon by the Sheriff of Pike County
7171 or appointed agent and shall be used exclusively for law
7272 enforcement purposes and in the discharge of the sheriff’s
7373 office as the sheriff sees fit.
7474 (d) The establishment of the sheriff's fundSheriff's
7575 Fund, as provided in this section, and the use of funds shall
7676 not diminish or take the place of any other reimbursement or
7777 other source of income established for the sheriff or the
7878 operation of the office of the sheriff.
7979 Section 2. This act shall become effective on October
8080 1, 2025.
