| 22 | 22 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |

| 23 | 23 | | Section 1. Act 95-414, 1995 Regular Session (Acts 1995, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | p. 903), now appearing as Section 45-55-231, Code of Alabama |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 1975, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | "§45-55-231 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (a) In Pike County, the fee for issuance of a permit to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | carry a pistol in a vehicle or concealed on or about the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | person as provided in Section 13A–11–75, shall be twenty |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | dollars ($20) per yearfor one year and one hundred dollars |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | ($100) for five years , which shall be collected by the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | sheriff. |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (b) Ten dollars ($10) of each Each fee collected under |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | this section shall be paid to the county treasury and the |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | remaining ten dollars ($10) of each fee shall be deposited by |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | the Sheriff of Pike County, or agents of the sheriff, in any |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | bank located in Pike County into a fund known as the sheriff's |

| 72 | 72 | | enforcement purposes and in the discharge of the sheriff’s |

| 73 | 73 | | office as the sheriff sees fit. |

| 74 | 74 | | (d) The establishment of the sheriff's fundSheriff's |
|---|
| 75 | 75 | | Fund, as provided in this section, and the use of funds shall |
|---|
| 76 | 76 | | not diminish or take the place of any other reimbursement or |
|---|
| 77 | 77 | | other source of income established for the sheriff or the |
|---|
| 78 | 78 | | operation of the office of the sheriff. |
|---|
| 79 | 79 | | Section 2. This act shall become effective on October |
|---|
| 80 | 80 | | 1, 2025. |
