17	17	AN ACT
18	18	Relating to Escambia County; to amend Section
19	19	45-27-247.07, Code of Alabama 1975, to further provide for the
20	20	administration of the cigarette and beer tax; and to repeal
21	21	Act 575, 1953 Regular Session (Acts 1953, p. 818), relating to
22	22	the beer tax.
23	23	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
24	24	Section 1. Section 45-27-247.07, Code of Alabama 1975,
25	25	is amended to read as follows:
26	26	"§45-27-247.07
27	27	(a) The governing body of the county is hereby given
28	28	the right, power, and authority to promulgate and may adopt
29	29	rules and regulations governing the collection of the tax
30	30	hereby imposed by this subpart , if it is necessary so to do in
31	31	order to more effectually carry out the terms and provisions
32	32	of this subpart, but it shall not have the right to alter or
33	33	change the distribution of the tax as herein provided for .
34	34	(b) The county governing body shall make available to
35	35	supply the judge of probate with ample funds from the county
36	36	general fund for the to purchase of stamps and other materials
37	37	and or supplies needed by the judge of probate for carrying

67	67	and or supplies needed by the judge of probate for carrying
68	68	out necessary for the administration of this subpart, and.
69	69	(c)the The county governing body may employ a person
70	70	or persons at a salary or salaries and expenses of the person
71	71	or persons so employed not to exceed the aggregate of four
72	72	hundred fifty dollars ($450) per month from the funds derived
73	73	from this subpart one or more individuals to act as inspector
74	74	or inspectors and otherwise to assist the judge of probate in
75	75	the enforcement of this subpart ,.
76	76	(d)and the salary or salaries and expenses Expenses
77	77	incurred pursuant to subsection (c) shall not exceed one
78	78	thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200) per month and shall be
79	79	paid from the county general fund. However, the county general
80	80	fund shall be reimbursed for all monies expended in connection
81	81	with the administration and enforcement of this subpart as
82	82	provided under Section 45-27-247.06."
83	83	Section 2. (a) The Escambia County Commission may
84	84	employ one or more individuals to act as inspector or
85	85	inspectors and otherwise to assist the judge of probate in the
86	86	enforcement of the county's beer tax.
87	87	(b) Expenses incurred pursuant to subsection (a) shall
88	88	not exceed five hundred dollars ($500) per month and shall be
89	89	paid from the county general fund. However, the county general
90	90	fund shall be reimbursed for all monies expended in connection
91	91	the administration and enforcement of the beer tax as provided
92	92	by general law.
93	93	Section 3. Act 575, 1953 Regular Session (Acts 1953, p.
94	94	818), relating to the Escambia County beer tax, is repealed.
95	95	Section 4. This act shall become effective on October
