1717 AN ACT
1818 Relating to Escambia County; to amend Section
1919 45-27-247.07, Code of Alabama 1975, to further provide for the
2020 administration of the cigarette and beer tax; and to repeal
2121 Act 575, 1953 Regular Session (Acts 1953, p. 818), relating to
2222 the beer tax.
2323 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2424 Section 1. Section 45-27-247.07, Code of Alabama 1975,
2525 is amended to read as follows:
2626 "ยง45-27-247.07
2727 (a) The governing body of the county is hereby given
2828 the right, power, and authority to promulgate and may adopt
2929 rules and regulations governing the collection of the tax
3030 hereby imposed by this subpart , if it is necessary so to do in
3131 order to more effectually carry out the terms and provisions
3232 of this subpart, but it shall not have the right to alter or
3333 change the distribution of the tax as herein provided for .
3434 (b) The county governing body shall make available to
3535 supply the judge of probate with ample funds from the county
3636 general fund for the to purchase of stamps and other materials
3737 and or supplies needed by the judge of probate for carrying

6767 and or supplies needed by the judge of probate for carrying
6868 out necessary for the administration of this subpart, and.
6969 (c)the The county governing body may employ a person
7070 or persons at a salary or salaries and expenses of the person
7171 or persons so employed not to exceed the aggregate of four
7272 hundred fifty dollars ($450) per month from the funds derived
7373 from this subpart one or more individuals to act as inspector
7474 or inspectors and otherwise to assist the judge of probate in
7575 the enforcement of this subpart ,.
7676 (d)and the salary or salaries and expenses Expenses
7777 incurred pursuant to subsection (c) shall not exceed one
7878 thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200) per month and shall be
7979 paid from the county general fund. However, the county general
8080 fund shall be reimbursed for all monies expended in connection
8181 with the administration and enforcement of this subpart as
8282 provided under Section 45-27-247.06."
8383 Section 2. (a) The Escambia County Commission may
8484 employ one or more individuals to act as inspector or
8585 inspectors and otherwise to assist the judge of probate in the
8686 enforcement of the county's beer tax.
8787 (b) Expenses incurred pursuant to subsection (a) shall
8888 not exceed five hundred dollars ($500) per month and shall be
8989 paid from the county general fund. However, the county general
9090 fund shall be reimbursed for all monies expended in connection
9191 the administration and enforcement of the beer tax as provided
9292 by general law.
9393 Section 3. Act 575, 1953 Regular Session (Acts 1953, p.
9494 818), relating to the Escambia County beer tax, is repealed.
9595 Section 4. This act shall become effective on October
