| 20 | 20 | Relating to Lauderdale County; to authorize the sheriff | |
| 21 | 21 | to conduct fundraising events and to use the profits for the | |
| 22 | 22 | operation of the office of the sheriff; and to provide that | |
| 23 | 23 | this act is remedial and curative. | |
| 24 | 24 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: | |
| 25 | 25 | Section 1. (a) In Lauderdale County, the sheriff may | |
| 26 | 26 | conduct fundraising events, including, but not limited to, | |
| 27 | 27 | rodeos, and may use the proceeds and profits from the events | |
| 28 | 28 | for any lawful purpose relating to the operation of the office | |
| 29 | 29 | of the sheriff. | |
| 30 | 30 | (b) The provisions of this section are remedial and | |
| 31 | 31 | curative, and any actions taken by the sheriff in conformance | |
| 32 | 32 | with subsection (a) are ratified and confirmed. | |
| 33 | 33 | Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately. | |
