19 | 19 | | Mountain Brook Chief of Police, James A "Jaye" Loggins, is |

21 | 21 | | during his 29-year career on the occasion of his retirement; |

23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Chief Loggins began his career with the |
---|
24 | 24 | | Mountain Brook Police Department in 1996 after completing |
---|
25 | 25 | | the Alabama Advanced Criminal Justice Academy at the |
---|
26 | 26 | | Montgomery Police Department; over the course of his career, |
---|
27 | 27 | | he has served and supervised in every division throughout |
---|
28 | 28 | | the department, which includes patrol, investigations, and |
---|
29 | 29 | | administration, and promotion to executive management and |
---|
30 | 30 | | oversight of the daily operations of the agency at the ranks |
---|
31 | 31 | | of Captain and Deputy Chief; and |
---|
32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Jaye Loggins was named Chief of Police on |
---|
33 | 33 | | October 25, 2021; under his leadership, the department |
---|
34 | 34 | | implemented a take-home vehicle program; transitioned |
---|
35 | 35 | | dispatch services to Shelby County 911; increased the |
---|
36 | 36 | | award-winning School Resource Officer team and cultivated a |
---|
37 | 37 | | collaborative partnership with the Mountain Brook School |
---|
38 | 38 | | System; adopted new, advanced technical investigative |

83 | 83 | | Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission |

85 | 85 | | WHEREAS, Chief Loggins earned many awards and |

86 | 86 | | accolades over the years, some of which include the FBI Law |

87 | 87 | | Enforcement Executive Development Academy Trilogy Award, |
---|
88 | 88 | | being named Officer of the Year in 1998 and 2006, and the |

89 | 89 | | Safest Cities Award for 2024; and |

90 | 90 | | WHEREAS, before becoming a police officer, Jaye |

91 | 91 | | Loggins attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham and |

92 | 92 | | earned a Bachelor of Science in Justice Science in 2001; in |

93 | 93 | | 2022, he earned a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from |

94 | 94 | | Jacksonville State University; he has steadfastly served and |

95 | 95 | | protected the residents of Mountain Brook leaving a lasting |
