21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, the Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts |

22 | 22 | | Center, located in Camden, Alabama, is a shining example of |

23 | 23 | | such an organization, proudly celebrating its 20th |

24 | 24 | | Anniversary of enriching Alabama's Black Belt region; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, established in February 2005, the Black Belt |
---|
26 | 26 | | Treasures Cultural Arts Center operates as a nonprofit |
---|
27 | 27 | | organization with a mission to invigorate the economy of |
---|
28 | 28 | | Alabama's Black Belt region through the sale and promotion |
---|
29 | 29 | | of fine arts and heritage crafts, as well as the provision |
---|
30 | 30 | | of arts education opportunities; and |

31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, the center was born out of a collaborative |

32 | 32 | | tourism initiative spearheaded by the Alabama-Tombigbee |

33 | 33 | | Regional Commission, Ala-Tom Resource Conservation and |

34 | 34 | | Development Council, and The University of Alabama Center |
---|
