16	16	TREASURES CULTURAL ARTS CENTER.
17	17	WHEREAS, the Alabama Legislature takes great pride in
18	18	recognizing organizations that significantly contribute to
19	19	the cultural, economic, and educational development of our
20	20	state; and
21	21	WHEREAS, the Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts
22	22	Center, located in Camden, Alabama, is a shining example of
23	23	such an organization, proudly celebrating its 20th
24	24	Anniversary of enriching Alabama's Black Belt region; and
25	25	WHEREAS, established in February 2005, the Black Belt
26	26	Treasures Cultural Arts Center operates as a nonprofit
27	27	organization with a mission to invigorate the economy of
28	28	Alabama's Black Belt region through the sale and promotion
29	29	of fine arts and heritage crafts, as well as the provision
30	30	of arts education opportunities; and
31	31	WHEREAS, the center was born out of a collaborative
32	32	tourism initiative spearheaded by the Alabama-Tombigbee
33	33	Regional Commission, Ala-Tom Resource Conservation and
34	34	Development Council, and The University of Alabama Center
35	35	for Economic Development; and
36	36	WHEREAS, the center proudly represents more than 580
37	37	artists, including gifted authors, musicians, painters,
38	38	sculptors, potters, basket-weavers, quilters, and

69	69	woodworkers; these artists have collectively achieved over
70	70	$2.27 million in sales through the center, which annually
71	71	welcomes an average of 13,000 visitors to its gallery; and
72	72	WHEREAS, the Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts
73	73	Center has garnered national acclaim through staff
74	74	presentations at professional conferences, features in
75	75	respected publications, and numerous awards, further
76	76	solidifying its status as a beacon of excellence in arts
77	77	promotion and education; and
78	78	WHEREAS, Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center
79	79	serves as the centerpiece of an arts economy revitalization
80	80	that involves artist development and arts education; it
81	81	encourages residents and visitors to experience the arts,
82	82	culture, and place; and
83	83	WHEREAS, the center's dedicated staff and volunteers
84	84	tirelessly engage with schools, civic organizations, and
85	85	community arts groups, offering artist demonstrations,
86	86	workshops, and presentations that inspire creativity and
87	87	foster a deep appreciation for the arts; and
88	88	WHEREAS, over the past two decades, the Black Belt
89	89	Treasures Cultural Arts Center has become the cornerstone of
90	90	an arts-driven economic revitalization, fostering artist
91	91	development and arts education while inviting residents and
92	92	visitors alike to explore and celebrate the unique culture,
93	93	history, and artistry of the Black Belt region; now
94	94	therefore,
95	95	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
